New Highly Restrictive Parking Proposals for La Crosse

Mandatory parking permits for La Crosse city streets could be coming soon.  The city’s Neighborhood Revitalization Commission has recommended a permitting process, higher fines and year-round alternate side parking as ways to limit commuter parking on the streets.  The proposals, they say, were put together with the ideas of improving livability in neighborhoods and increasing access to city streets for services like street sweeping and snow plowing.  The group plans three public hearings on the parking proposals beginning with one next week.
