A 24 year old Norwalk man is recovering in the Monroe County Jail after nearly dieing of a drug overdose. Jacob Kotten was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found unconscious in his vehicle off of Highway 16.

Police believe Kotten’s vehicle came out of the Kwik Trip parking lot on the corner of Highways 16 and 71 in reverse, crossed Highway 16 and into the culvert. Cops found a syringe, spoon and cotton ball in Kotten’s pocket. They say he was clinging to life.

Kotten admitted to using heroin in the Kwik Trip before driving. He was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
