Are Two State Offices In For Blah Elections?
The state Government Accountability Board will decide a week from today
whether candidates have enough valid nominating signatures to get on the ballot. And that includes the offices of state treasurer and secretary of state. Though, according to UW-L Professor, Joe Heim, those two offices don’t do much anymore.
Incumbent Doug La Follette is the only Democrat to file for secretary of state. Two Republicans filed…..outgoing state Representative Garey Bies (byes) and La Crosse’s Julian Bradley, along with Libertarian Andy Craig and Constitution Party candidate Jerry Broitzman. Republican State Treasurer Kurt Schuller is not running again.
