Riverfest Medallion Found
They had 10 clues ready, but only three were used before the hunt was over.
Riverfest organizers in La Crosse hid the fest medallion near the main flagpole outside Central High School this year, and the finders apparently spotted it by chance. Marina Tofstad and her daughter Gloria were walking to the Village shopping center on Tuesday night when they saw the medallion among the shrubs in front of Central. The clues released before Tuesday night contained references to the Central High Memorial Day service, and to Olympic athlete George Poage, who graduated from high school in La Crosse in 1899.
