A new, $8.4 million water chilling plant is set to be built on the west side

of the UW-La Crosse campus. Pending UW System approval tomorrow. Construction could start in April 2015 with completion in fall 2016. The facility will be built to accommodate another chiller to meet future needs. Underground piping will connect the plant to the existing chilled water distribution system, which will provide air conditioning for the new student center, new Cowley Science Labs Building, a Recreational Eagle Center addition and the new residence hall. The plant will be funded half by state tax dollars and half by program revenue.
