Tomah VA Wait Times Lowest In The State
An audit released Monday showed that the average waiting time for a
new patient to see a doctor at the VA hospital in Tomah is 17 days. To see a specialist, the wait time is 39 days. Congressman Ron Kind says he’s happy to see Tomah is working to lower the wait times across the board.
The audit showed that 525 Wisconsin veterans have waited more than three months to get a VA appointment. Nationally, over 57 thousand veterans have waited at least 90 days to see a doctor. VA officials say that’s not acceptable, and they’re already contacting veterans to get them in faster.
