UW System Fees Increase. Scary?
UW System students won’t face higher tuition bills, but they’ll still have to
pay more to go to school next year. The budget raises student fees by an average of 3.6 percent and room and board expenses by an average of 2.7 percent at the 13 four year campuses. Students on those campuses will have to pay an average of $39 more in fees, $115 more for housing, and $63 more for meal plans. We asked UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow if those spikes may scare off potential students.
The UW System passed a $1.6 billion budget last week. The plan represents a 1.7 percent spending increase over last year.
