Board Gives OK to Radio System Contract
Nearly five million dollars for new radios in La Crosse. The city’s public works board today has agreed with Motorola on a contract for 4.8 million for a new emergency radio system. The current system used by everybody from cops to street sweepers is around 20 years old and parts are no longer available. The price tag does not include additional tower expenses associated with the radio upgrade and the total price tag is expected to exceed 6 million dollars.
