Tomah Gets Tough On Alcohol
Half of Tomah’s alcohol licensees failed compliance checks during
the three most recent quarterly rounds of random compliance checks. The latest in May. Now the city council has created an ad hoc alcohol licensing review committee. Police Chief Mark Nicholson says it’s something that’s been thought of for awhile now.
The city has faced underage alcohol compliance problems in the last year, with half of the randomly selected license-holders failing checks this spring. The written policy would communicate licensing expectations to Tomah businesses and allow the city to treat each case equally.
