Funds Secured for Downtown Cameras
With a fundraising goal met, surveillance cameras will soon go up in downtown La Crosse. It was well more than a year ago that Mike Keil with the La Crosse City Vision Foundation launched an effort to raise nearly a half million dollars to put up dozens of cameras in public places in the downtown. Figured they’d be installed by last fall. Fundraising has hit 350 thousand dollars. That means work can begin. At some point
Keil says the fundraising goal is still 475 thousand dollars. The extra money will allow police to expand the surveillance camera program as needed.
