Murder Charge Against Timmy Johnson Most Likely To Be Filed In Grant County

The autopsy results are not done yet, but the La Crosse D-A suspects that a man found dead in a stolen car was killed in Grant County. 

As a result, Tim Gruenke is not expecting to file homicide charges here against Timmy Johnson Junior, who’s accused of stealing the car and attacking owner Merle Forbes.  Police reports say Forbes had been stabbed several times.  The car was stolen in Platteville, and was stopped by police after a chase and crash in La Crosse County.  Johnson is still jailed in La Crosse, but Lafayette County just issued an arrest warrant for him, on car theft charges from earlier this year.
