Jobless Rates falling
La Crosse has had the lowest drop in
unemployment of any major Wisconsin city in the last year…but then again, the jobless rate here is low to begin with. The local jobless level fell seven-tenths of one per cent since May of 2013. It’s now down to 4-point-3 per cent…lower than in every metro area but Madison. Among the top 32 cities in Wisconsin, La Crosse is 21st in unemployment. Racine has the highest jobless rate, of close to 10 per cent. La Crosse and Trempealeau Counties are in the bottom 10 with low unemployment statewide. Crawford and Jackson Counties are in the top half of the list.
