Ona Luther Grad Wins New Car In Local Student Competition
Last July, one La Crosse company celebrated its 100th birthday by announcing a competition, in which area high school seniors would submit essays for a chance to win a new car.
Ninety-nine students responded to the challenge, and 47 got to the point where their essays were judged by a community panel. Just one car could be awarded, and yesterday Trust Point presented a blue Ford Focus to Onalaska Luther graduate Abigail Stephan (steffen). She says the car will really help her keep up with work and college:
Stephan lives on a farm near Lewiston, and plans to study veterinary science at a college in Rochester. The contestants were asked to write essays explaining their aspirations, and why they could use a car of their own.
