Council Votes to Drop Meeting, Cut Members
Pretty significant changes for the La Crosse city council. The council casts a first vote on Tuesday to not only change its meeting structure but to also cut the number of city council members from 17 to 13. City council president Dick Swantz called the move “historic” but wanted to go further
Among the changes is the elimination of the council’s committee of the whole meeting where the public is typically allowed to air grievances.
