League Of Woman Voters Not Done Yet
The Wisconsin Supreme Court upheld a requirement Thursday that voters show
photo identification at the polls, but the law remains blocked in federal court. The state Supreme Court’s 4-3 ruling combined two separate cases brought by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Andrea Kaminski with the League of Women Voters says they may go a bit further now. To the federal level.
For the law to take effect, a federal appeals court would have to overturn a federal judge’s decision in April that struck down the law.
