Gundersen Joins Other Wis. Hospitals In New Medical Partnership

It’s not a merger, but Gundersen and five other major hospitals in Wisconsin have become partners in a new medical group…

Gundersen C-E-O Jeff Thompson is also the chair of the group that includes Aurora, Theda Care, and U-W Health.  Thompson says the idea behind the collaboration is to share ideas for improving health care and becoming more efficient:

The six medical groups represented provide access to 90 per cent of Wisconsin’s population.  Mayo and Franciscan in La Crosse have not been included in the partnership at this time.
