One Riverboat Delayed, Another Staying For A While

The sediment problem is not just messing with barge traffic on the Mississippi…

It’s also leading to changes in the travel plans for the American Queen paddlewheeler.  The boat will spend this afternoon docked at La Crosse as scheduled…but instead of heading upriver tonight, it will stay in town through Sunday.  And passengers scheduled to get off in the Twin Cities will be taken there by bus.  Meanwhile, a second paddlewheeler that was scheduled to arrive in La Crosse today is behind schedule.  The Queen of the Mississippi is now supposed to get to Riverside Park tomorrow.
