Vacanices Create Opportunity for City Hall Change

Almost by accident, an anticipated reorganization of department heads in La Crosse city hall appears to be taking shape. Wtih the city planner leaving next month, there will be three department head positions to fill.  Perfect opportunity, says mayor Tim Kabat, to put in place a consultant’s recommendation for streamlining city hall.  Whittling down more than a dozen department heads to about a half dozen heads of areas of service like public safety and public works

Along with the planning department head, the finance director position has been vacant since May.  The MTU has been operating under an interim director since December.
