La Crosse Water Infrastructure Solid Despite Trends

La Crosse seems to be bucking the trends when it comes to water systems.  First, the city’s water utility has plenty to pump, a growing rarity in modern times.  But the pipes themselves, many of them buried for well more than hundred years, aren’t in the same poor shape as what is found underground in the rest of the nation
 
 
City water utility manager, Mark Johnson.  A recent report on water infrastructure measured the cost of getting all systems around the nation in good working order at about a trillion dollars.
