Building Looks Like a Success for Challenged Neighborhood

College students are going to rent a place to live in La Crosse.  Might as well be a nice place.  More or less the marketing campaign for the The Hive in La Crosse.   The HIve is the new, five-story student apartment building at 10th and State streets.  It stands high above some of the ratty, converted rental homes in the surrounding area.  And, owner Jason Alberty says, a pleasure to manage

Alberty says he’s up to 150 tenants and counting at about five hundred bucks per bedroom.   He hopes to have retail spaces on the ground floor filled by the beginning of the coming year.
