There will be plenty of firsts tomorrow as the School District of La Crosse welcomes students into the new Northside Elementary School, the district’s first new school in over 20 years. Students, staff and members of the American Legion Post 52 will raise the American flag for the first time at a short ceremony in the school’s courtyard at 10:00 a.m. The flag raising ceremony will include musical performances by Logan High School students as well as Northside Elementary and Coulee Montessori students as well as comments by Northside Elementary principal Laura Huber and Superintendent of Schools Randy Nelson. The event is scheduled to last until 10:20 a.m.
