Fort McCoy Movie Opens

When a studio makes a big-budget movie, audiences usually get to see

that movie just a few months after filming ends. But if a film is independently made, it can take years to produce and get into theaters, or onto video.  The wartime drama ‘Fort McCoy’ finally makes it to La Crosse movie screens tonight, six years after it was filmed in the area.  And the filming came long after director Michael Worth decided to try producing the script with writer and star Kate Connor:

Worth spoke with us in 2008, while he was still casting local actors in ‘Fort McCoy.’  Until this summer, the movie has been seen mainly on the film festival circuit.
