Footbridge At St. Mary’s Being Taken Down Because Of Damage From Truck

An oversized truck is to blame for an emergency bridge demolition in Winona…

The footbridge over Highway 14 at the St. Mary’s campus will be taken down quickly, to avoid new damage to the highway surface.  A semi slammed into the bottom of the overpass on Monday.  Minn DOT spokesman Mike Dougherty says the footbridge can’t stay up in its current condition:

Until further notice, traffic on Highway 14 between Winona and Stockton is being detoured to other roads, including Highway 61.
