Groundbreaking For New UWL Student Union Is Oct. 17

It’s been the main student union at U-W-La Crosse since before the school was known as U-W-L…

But Cartwright Center is over 50 years old, and showing its age.  Larry Ringgenberg, the director of university centers on campus, says there are problems with the plumbing and the heating:

And besides, students voted to put up a newer and larger building.  Groundbreaking for the new union is scheduled for October 17th, in the parking lot east of Wimberly Hall.  U-W-L will provide a live internet video feed of the building’s construction process.
