Ground Breaking For Student Center Today

Though the construction has already begun for a new $53 million student

center on the campus of UW-L, an official ground breaking ceremony will take place today at 2:30. Chancellor Joe Gow says they had an opportunity to start early on the project.

The new student union replaces the existing Cartwright Center. Taxpayers won’t have to pay for Cartwright’s replacement, which will be covered by student fees. In 2012, students approved an increase in segregated fees to fund the project.
