Wood Burning Furnaces On Way Out??

New rules for using wood furnaces in rural La Crosse County might not be

passed without a fight. County board members had some questions last night about the health department’s plans to impose stricter rules on the use of wood-burners, to cut down on pollution.  Supervisor Hubert Hoffman says it would be a good idea to get reaction from county residents before imposing a new ordinance:

The suggested change calls for the county to require older-model wood heaters to be replaced with cleaner furnaces within six years.
