Streets Bill to Oktoberfest Lower This Year

The La Crosse Oktoberfest organization can plan on banking a few extra dollars from this year’s fest.  The city’s public works department has put together a bill for the group that’s less than last year’s.  City public works director Dale Hexom says overtime costs came in a little less for all of the street clean up, sign posting and barrier moving for this year’s fest and so that’s reflected in a bill from his department that totals just about $11,400 with tax.  The event actually costs the department about twice that.  Police are also sending their 10 thousand dollar bill to the fest.  Overtime costs for that department are way higher than that for fest.
