Madison Pundit Says Turnout Will Swing Governor’s Race, Not Changing Minds

If you’re waiting for one of the candidates for Wisconsin governor to make a big move in the polls before the election…well, it probably just happened. 

The last Marquette University poll before Tuesday’s balloting shows Governor Scott Walker with a seven-point lead over Mary Burke.  They had been tied in the previous Marquette poll…and Madison political writer John Nichols thinks the race will remain fairly close to the end:

Nichols thinks the governor’s race will not depend on voters changing their minds, but on which side gets more of its people out to vote.  He spoke this week in La Crosse at a rally aimed at approving special referendums in Wisconsin.
