Accidental Hunting Accident Over The Weekend

The Trempeleau county sheriff’s office has now released the names of those

involved in an accidental shooting Saturday morning. A hunter thought he was shooting at a squirrel when he pulled the trigger. Instead he hit a man who was sitting at the base of a tree bow hunting. The victim, 55  year old Patrick Humfeld of Trempealeau, was shot in the head. He was last reported in serious but stable condition. The squirrel hunter has been identified as David Devine of Onalaska. The accident is still under investigation.
