Air Conditioning Thefts Up to 18, Police Still Looking
La Crosse police have now counted 18 stolen commercial air conditioning units. The latest report is of a unit stolen from a business in the city’s industrial park. Thieves drive up, cut lines to the units, and haul them away. Police sergeant Randy Rank says the investigation into the thefts assumes that criminal scrappers are behind the thefts
The air conditioning units can weigh over 150 pounds each. The units have been stolen from businesses, churches and other organizations.
