Latino Population Grows In Western Wisconsin
The Latino population in western Wisconsin has grown about 10 per cent in the
last decade, according to recent counts. In the city of La Crosse alone, about two per cent of the residents are Latino, and they now have a new community center to help them with many of the services they may need. Centro Latino coordinator Cameron Segura says Latino families new to the area can get assistance in finding housing, financial help, and food:
Centro Latino is among the local organizations which recently got a food donation from Festival Foods and Burnstad’s. The center at the First Baptist Church in La Crosse is open only on Tuesdays, and is sponsored by Viterbo, U-W-L, the Franciscan Sisters, and other groups.
