Homeowners may save a few pennies in La Crosse next year, but the city will suffer. That’s how city council finance committee chair, Audrey Kader explains her vote against a city operating budget for next year that includes no tax increase. She was the only no vote on the plan which also decreases spending by about a half million dollars over this year. The operating budget, approved this week, calls for about 71 million dollars in spending for 2015.
