Anderson Trial Gets Closer
The jury selection in a La Crosse murder trial this month could take a full day, or longer…
That prediction comes from Judge Elliott Levine, who will preside over the trial of Mitrel Anderson. He’s accused of killing another man during a restroom fight at the Kwik Trip on Cass Street in June of last year. Anderson claims it was self-defense, and he felt threatened by the victim. Some jury candidates were weeded out yesterday during a pre-trial hearing, based on comments they made on a questionnaire. That still leaves about 60 people who will report on Tuesday for jury selection, in a trial that could last almost two weeks.
