Sparta Standoff Ends Peacefully

A tense situation for Sparta Police this weekend. In the end, a standoff

ended peacefully. Cops say around 9 Saturday night, they responded to a fight in a house. They found out that 46 year old William Kreuzer of Sparta armed himself with a shotgun and barricaded himself inside the home. The victim in the fight was able to safely leave. Officers established communication with Kreuzer but he refused to leave the house. The Monroe County Combined Tactical Unit and a Police Negotiator were called to the scene. After a 3 hour standoff, Kreuzer came out and was taken into custody. He is currently in the Monroe County Jail facing charges of Disorderly Conduct and Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
