Year Long Study Will Determine Course of New Road
It’s kind of like a study to determine whether there should be a study. That’s essentially what the DOT is embarking on at the beginning of the year to see if there’s some kind of consensus in the greater La Crosse area about what form north-south transportation improvements should take
Mayor Tim Kabat, after a meeting with the area Chamber of Commerce and the DOT on Monday, wants the city to come up with viable options that the DOT can consider that don’t involve a road through the marsh. After the year-long study, the DOT will determine if the project is worth the millions that would have to get spent on an environmental impact study that would have to be done before any road building can begin.
