State Emergency Operations Center At Level 3
Governor Scott Walker says the Wisconsin National Guard is prepared to
respond to any unrest that might be prompted by the announcement that charges against a police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man 14 times will not be coming down.
Tod Pritchard with the State Emergency Operations Center in Madison says they are now at a level 3.
The Milwaukee County D.A. said this morning that Christopher Manney won’t be charged because he shot Dontre Hamilton in self defense. Manney, who was fired because of the shooting, is at least the third white police officer to avoid charges in the past month after a confrontation that led to a black man’s death.
