Ice On River Leads To Cutback Of Search For Missing Fisherman

The search for a missing Onalaska man will go on, but it’s being scaled back now during the winter months…

Investigators say Joshua Xiong’s boat went through a roller gate at the Dresbach lock and dam during a fishing trip on the Mississippi last month.  Winona County officers have been aided in the search by other police departments in the region, but Winona Sheriff Dave Brand says the river is now too icy for using a sonar device.  They’ll still walk near the shoreline, and do aerial searches:

Brand is disappointed that he wasn’t able to complete the search before the holidays.
