County Accepts Weber’s Million Dollar Offer For Parking Lot

The county board agrees to sell the courthouse parking lot to Don Weber for a million dollars. Brian Fukuda from the county planning office explained details of the proposed deal before the board vote last night. The county will get to keep 40 surface parking spaces on Lot C…but the city will probably develop 85 parking spaces on another block in return:
It’s the first part of a chain reaction that will lead to a new Associated Bank, new county offices, and a new dorm for Western Tech, all within three years. The county’s plans for developing Lot C made it to number 2 on our newsroom list of the top local stories of 2014.
