First Baby Of 2015 At Mayo Revealed

Rob and Leandra Nachazel couldn’t wait for new year to arrive. The La Crosse couple expected their first child in late January. However, little Eva didn’t want to wait until then, becoming the first baby born at Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare in 2015.

Born at 4:02 a.m., Eva weighed in at 5 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches. Both mother and baby are resting comfortably at the hospitals Family Birthplace.

Eva is a special name in the Nachazel home as it has skipped down from generation to generation on Leandra’s side of the family. Her grandmother and great-great-grandmother also had that name. Leandra’s parents also work at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. Rob is happy his new daughter was born during the holiday break. He returns to classes at Western Technical College on Monday.
