Necedah Man Facing Charges In Drug Overdose Death
Charges of first degree reckless homicide, two counts of manufacture/delivery
of heroin and one count of possession of narcotic drugs are being leveled against a Necedah man in a drug overdose death in Monroe County. The Monroe County DA says 39 year old Shane Shelby sold heroin to Derik McGovern in Tomah back in July. McGovern died from an overdose that morning. Tomah Police Chief Mark Nicholson says the case was cracked with the help from the Monroe County Joint Investigative Task Force.
Shelby could be fast tracked back to prison as he was on supervision through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections at the time of McGovern’s death. He’ll be in court February 3rd.
