Johnson Chairman Of Homeland Security
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Qaeda divorced in February 2014. Today,
ISIS and al-Qaeda compete for influence over Islamist extremist groups around the world. Senator Ron Johnson, the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, says knocking out both groups is a huge task of his and the Homeland Security committee.
After being confirmed Thursday by the Senate Republican Conference, Johnson said the committee’s mission will be the to enhance the economic and national security of America.
