Could be More Problem Property Purchases in La Crosse’s Future
Some other landlords could be in for big payouts from the city of La Crosse. The city council late last week agreed to pay landlord Steve Eide around 450 thousand dollars for a fire-damaged 16 plex on the southside of the city. One of the primary reason for the city buying that property is due to its presence on the short list of chronic nuisance locations in the city. Eide’s property is one of about a dozen on the list.
City council president Dick Swantz says the city may use the same process to buy a problem property like Eide’s again in the future.
