State to Continue ID Verification for Tax Returns

There’s changes every year for tax filing.  But this year, Wisconsin is sticking to a new identification verification process started last year.  State revenue secretary Rick Chandler estimates giving some tax filers a quiz last year helped save 50 million dollars in fraudulently filed returns.  And it’s not a difficult process to go through. 
 
 
 
 
 
Wisconsin started accepting returns this week.  Federal tax filing season begins next Tuesday.
