Kind Wants Investigation Into Tomah VA
The Center for Investigative Reporting this week found that the Tomah VA
hospital continues to give out larger numbers of painkillers to patients despite a downward trend nationally. Now Congressman Ron Kind wants a full scale investigation. He tells us that this is not the first time he has heard of problems at that VA.
A whistle-blower reportedly said the drugs were being given out like candy. A doctor said his staff has been using the medications in part to ween patients off larger doses of painkillers given during their service, or by other facilities.
