Hearings on Permanent Deer Rules Begin Next Week in La Crosse
Permanent rules for deer management could be approved soon in Wisconsin. The state’s DNR will propose a new set of rules that were derived from the report put together by James Kroll, the so-called deer czar that was brought to the state in governor Walker’s first administration to make deer management more user-friendly and effective in the state. The state’s been operating under a set of temporary rules since then. A series of nine public hearings will be held throughout the state starting next week. First hearing is scheduled for La Crosse at DNR offices next Tuesday.
