Just A Few Polling Site Problems
About half of the polling sites monitored by the state League of Women Voters
last fall, had higher than anticipated voter turnout, and it appeared that more people than usual sought to register at the polling place. Some sites with unexpectedly high turnout had significant problems related to voter registration and site management. A few nuns in La Crosse had problems registering as did a few college students.
La Crosse County Clerk, Ginny Dankmeyer agrees with a lot that was in the LWV’s report, quite a bit to do with people just having the wrong document’s when trying to register to vote.
