Sparta Case To High Court
He says he was forcibly pulled from his cell and subdued by a stun gun while
he was faced drug possession charges four years ago. Now, the case of Monroe County’s Michael Kingsley will got to the US Supreme Court. The nations highest court is expected to hear the appeal by Kingsley who claims his civil rights were violated by Monroe County deputies before it adjourns next June. Kingsley says his head was banged against a concrete bunk during the incident, though jailers deny that. He has lost his claims of the use of excessive force twice, in federal court and before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Kingsley was being held in the Sparta jail before his trial when he refused a guard’s instructions.
