Holmen Voters To See Two Ballot Questions In April
Holmen school district voters in April will be asked to pass two
referendums. One for funds for technology starting next year and lasting four years. Another, authorizing the district to raise $335 thousand in additional revenue starting in the 2016-2017 school year, and continuing every year after that. That money would be used by the district for facilities and transportation. School Board President Cheryl Hancock says it’s not every day they go to the public for money. At least not over the past 18 years.
Hancock says she firmly believes this is good for the school district and good for the students. The total for the two referendums will be $990 thousand, but if they are approved, residents would not see their taxes go up.
