BRF Man Hit BY Car Walking Home From Work

A man walking home from work in the dark was hit by a car in Black River

Falls last night. He’s in the hospital, and the suspected driver is facing a fifth O-W-I charge.  Dean Brown of Merrillan has face and leg injuries after the accident on Highways 12 and 27.  The driver who struck Brown took him to the hospital, and then was found to have a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.  Joseph Cholka was convicted on his third and fourth drunk driving counts in Eau Claire County three years ago.  Cholka’s probation for previous offenses was terminated last year.
