Long Time Polar Plunge Coming
About 200 people have signed up to jump into the Mississippi, for an annual
charity fundraiser in La Crosse. The Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics happens at Pettibone Beach on Saturday, March 7th. Special Olympics spokeswoman Kerry Gloede says people like to plunge into the river in any kind of weather…even when it’s unusually warm:
The local plunge routinely raises more than 100-thousand dollars every winter. The event brought 800 plungers to the beach last year.
